Busker Policy
Our Busker Policy is designed to create a welcoming, fair, and accessible space for local musicians to share their talent while supporting the vibrant atmosphere of the Peterborough Regional Farmers’ Market.
To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we aim to keep music at a volume that allows vendors and customers to communicate easily while still enjoying the ambiance.
Important Guidelines for Market Performers
Acoustic music only (no amplifiers)
Buskers must be scheduled in advance
Location will assigned by the Market Manager
Buskers are under the direction of the Market Manager for the duration of the market day
Performers must read and agree to abide by the PRFM Busker & Music Policy before their scheduled market day (policy is linked below)

To become a busker at the Peterborough Regional Farmers' Market, simply complete the Busker Application form below and review our Busker & Music Policy. By applying, you agree to follow the policy guidelines. Once your application has been reviewed, the Market Manager will contact you to schedule your performance date(s).

Absolutely! We encourage buskers to place a guitar case, hat, or small sign to collect tips. Our visitors enjoy supporting local talent and often show their appreciation through donations.

PRFM is not able to offer financial compensation to performers at this time. However, buskers are welcome to accept tips from market-goers. It's a great opportunity to connect with the community and showcase your talent.

No. All buskers must be scheduled in advance. We want to ensure a smooth experience for performers, vendors, and customers alike, so unscheduled performances are not permitted. Buskers who arrive without prior approval may be asked to leave.

Once you’ve been approved and scheduled, the Market Manager will assign you a designated space within the market. If you’re unsure where to go when you arrive, just check in with Market Staff or Volunteers. They’ll be happy to direct you to your spot.
