Peterborough Storytellers

Betty Bennett came to storytelling via the Haliburton School of the Arts and the Intensive Workshop of the Toronto Storytelling School. Over the last ten years, she has been a regular member of the Peterborough Storytellers, both as a teller and a program planner. She frequently tells at events in and around Peterborough including open mic evenings, fundraisers and service, as well as in Brockville, Campbellford and recently at the community performance space at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Betty is a member of the Peterborough Storytellers and the Storytellers of Canada – Conteurs du Canada (SC-CC).
Betty trained as a Library Technician, and before retirement was employed as the librarian at a major marketing research company. She has served on the Board of the Asphodel Norwood Horticultural Society as the annual plant sale coordinator and as President, and on the Fundraising Committee of Westben Arts Festival Theatre, specifically co-chairing the Kitchen Ceilidh fundraiser for two years.
